Description

The PhD Programme in Bioscience is provided by Graduate School of Science and Technology at Aarhus University.

 

 

Department of Bioscience conducts both basic research in a range of biological disciplines (botany, zoology, marine biology, genetics, evolution, microbiology, zoophysiology, ecophysiology, population ecology, ecotoxicology, and bioinformatics) and research-based public sector consultancy in the areas of environmental management of marine and terrestrial ecosystems. Currently the research activities at the department are organized in 12 research groups in which Department of Bioscience offers PhD-programmes:

 

  • Biological and physical oceanography
  • Coastal ecology
  • Arctic marine environments
  • Integrative ecology and evolution (evolutionary and ecological sciences, including population genetics and bioinformatics)
  • Microbiology (the study of microorganisms from genes to microbial physiology and ecosystem processes)
  • Freshwater and catchment science
  • Terrestrial ecology
  • Wildlife ecology
  • Conservation ecology
  • Ecosystem ecology
  • Zoophysiology
  • Ecotoxicology
