Do you want to work with biological molecules, gene technology and cell culture? Potato flour, enzymes, laundry powder, beer, vaccines and drugs for diagnostics and treatment of diabetes, haemophilia and cancer may all be totally or partially developed and produced on basis of biological processes. As a civil engineer in Biotechnology, you will work as a technological problem solver across academic boundaries between biologists, chemists and doctors.

During the Biotechnology programme at Aalborg University, you will take part in examination of proteins, enzymes, DNA, RNA, carbohydrates, entire genomes, single cells and organisms. In addition, in the projects, you will be working with methods relevant to the biotechnological and pharmaceutical industries. Examples of projects could be for instance: Cultivation of micro-organisms and human cells for production of natural and gene-modified proteins; Advanced methods for analysis of characterisation of proteins and their functions; Analysis and modification of genes and their activities. Hence, whether you are interested in foods, industrial enzymes or medicine based on stem cells, genes or proteins, the Master programme in Biotechnology at Aalborg University will satisfy your expectations!

This 4-semester programme is carried out at the Section of Biotechnology, Aalborg University. The programme aims at providing international students with solid knowledge, expertise and hands-on experience in modern biotechnology.
