Description
The European Medical School Oldenburg- Groningen (EMS ) is a German-Dutch cooperation project between the Universities of Oldenburg and Groningen - and unique with this cross-national profile in Europe. The aim of the EMS is to break new ground in medical education. The teaching concept is practice-oriented and research-based - and provides the opportunity to train highly qualified doctors for the Northwest region.
Through the cooperation of the University of Oldenburg and the three hospitals - the Hospital , the Protestant Hospital and the Pius - Hospital - creates a new university medical facility in Oldenburg. This includes a supply gap in the region. Close cooperation with the Karl Jaspers Clinic in the area of psychiatry and doctors in private practice are also important building blocks of the Oldenburg University Medical Center .
Two common themes characterize the university medicine in Oldenburg: " Sensory Systems" and "health services research".
